Bye Hong Kong…

Filed under: Uncategorized — kancilz at 8:47 am on Tuesday, February 21, 2006

So I’m leaving tomorrow… And packing is a major pain in the butt! I have way too many clothes… Well ok not really but it’s mostly winter clothes and they’re thick! And I’m stupid enough to bring books back *sigh* So I’m contemplating about bringing another bag along with me which I seriously dread… I like to minimize the amount of baggage but I think at this point I have little or no choice in the matter.

At this very moment I am so sick of seeing the clothes piled up on my bed that I had to take a breather, of course it’s like past midnight so I’m probably going to be screwed later but who cares! Totally wish there’s a way to teleport this bunch of crap to melb… It’d be cool if it could teleport me as well but that mode of transportation would probably cause cancer hehehe… I’m on the verge of insanity and I still have to pack, God save me! Right… I am going to DO this… I am going to finish packing and I am going to go to bed! After I upload pictures… Procrastination is definitely a skill LOL

My Obsession

Filed under: Uncategorized — kancilz at 9:16 am on Sunday, February 19, 2006

My mom has been complaining about me taking pictures of well anything without me or any other person in it… Such as scenery… weirdly shaped clouds… a duck’s butt when diving… interesting corners of houses or buildings… houses or buildings… food…  Especially since eighty five percent of my pictures from Japan are those sorts of things :P In my defense, finally having a camera that allows to take a direct picture of the freakin sun without any glare is awesome unlike my old non-digital camera…

Anyway… That is my current obsession, therefore I have decided to buy a new camera for it since I have some money leftover from the WTO stint in December last year. And so far I think my new Sony DSC-H1 camera is so cool! Obviously it is bigger than my old compact selfish camera (for those of you who don’t know, it can rotate 180 degrees so I can take a self picture anytime :P hence it’s a selfish camera). I’m leaving that one with my parents since I figured it’s about time they have a digital. But yeah I’m so excited about this new one and I can’t wait to take redundant photos… Life is grand!

Where do socks go?

Filed under: Uncategorized — kancilz at 12:25 pm on Friday, February 17, 2006

Dsc01525Today I was looking for a pair of socks and I found five different kinds all in which was just one side! Grrr…. I honestly believe that the washing machine is a portal to some sort of mystical land where the inhabitants like to steal socks! I think these creatures think it’s damn funny to steal not a pair of socks but just one side, leaving you searching and ultimately ransacking the whole house trying to find your lonely socks partner. Watch Family Guy, they have the right idea when Peter got into the washing machine and saw a dumbass centaur holding one sock and saying, "Welcome to Narnia hihihihi" then gallops off. It’s a funny joke but  I seriously think that’s what actually happens.

Bye Japan…

Well I’m back in hong kong… Haven’t been able to bring myself to post anything during my stay so I’ll just give a brief run down on what I did in Japan.

Most of my days is spent at this place called Motomachi, which is like a shopping area near where Chuck lives. There’s a Starbucks there and Excelsior cafe, which I am in love with. They have this maple syrup latte thing which is like a caramel machiatto but the coffee’s better. Anyway… They also have Mos burger… I miss Mos burger *sniff*

Apart from that I went to DisneySea and DisneyLand…. Had heaps of fun… but it was seriously tiring… Woke up at like eight in the morning which for me is a BIG thing since I am not a morning person! Walked around DisneySea until five and then we went to DisneyLand where entry was like half price during that time… We stayed until closing so I was dead by the time we came back!

Another really nice place I went to was a tiny island called Enoshima where I got to have a whole Japanese experience from food to wearing a yukata! Hehehe… It was really cool and I got a lot of scenery pics from that…

Don’t think I’m gonna bore anybody with details, bottom line I had an awesome time even though it’s cold most of the time… I miss Chuck already :(

Viva KTV

Filed under: Uncategorized — kancilz at 9:22 am on Monday, February 6, 2006

Rain, shine, thunder storm, a freakin blizzard, aint nothin gonna stop me from going to KTV! That’s right. I’m freezing my ass off in this country and I still sing until my lungs are about to pop in the comforts of a private room in one of Japan’s KTV! VIVA KTV!!! Man the song selection here is soooo much better than Hong Kong! Oh and the vid clips follow the theme of the song instead of some chick twirling in a field for no apparent reason even though the song playing is a ROCK song (yeah my KTV peeps know what I’m talkin about!).  OMG to the Melbournians remember the vid with the roaches?!?! Gross!!!

Anyway… I’m keepin’ this one short. Smoochie-woochies ;P

Ohayo Gozaimasu!

I’m finally here! (in Japan for those of you wondering) And its so freakin’ cold! The flight was fine until we started to descend, for some reason the pilot kept tilting the plane bit by bit like he’s not sure where the airport is! Got a bit of motion sickness from that plus they turned on the heater full blast so that was not fun.  Ooohh and airport crews wave at airplanes here, there were five people lined up waving at either my plane or Korean Air, I dunno but they waved! When I got off I had to bite my lip to keep me from screaming "this is so surreal" to myself. It’s weird, I still find it hard to believe that I’m here… The guy in front of me at the immigration line farted TWICE! I was seriously considering shoving a stick up his ass. A guy who reminded me of a chubby Billy Zane tried to act cool standing in line with his legs apart and a I’m-so-sexy look on his face and I was like thinking dude, you’re in a line for immigration not like you’re trying to pick up some girl (or guy) I know I know… I’m rambling… But bear in mind the line was looooonnnnggg I had to wait for an hour and keep myself occupied and so naturally I started to bitch about ppl in my head.  The guy in immigration looked like an Anime character, actually most of the guys looked like they came straight out of a comic book!

Chuck’s place is a pretty two story house in Yokohama, I’m in love with the place! Lotsa wood, huge kitchen, everything I want my dream house to be! So far I went to the park near Chuck’s place, it snowed earlier and there are a few patches of white along the streets. I can’t feel my nose, its freezing! I’m having a blast! I’m going to bed now ’til the next post!

Sayonara!!!

Insomnia…

Filed under: Uncategorized — kancilz at 9:55 am on Thursday, February 2, 2006

Dsc01166You know you have a problem when you’re on your computer, glance at the
clock and think 01:09 am is still early! Seriously need a major
internal clock adjustment cause it’s getting ridiculous. I know my
fellow nocturnal friends would read this and laugh while knowing I aint
gonna do shit-all about it but hey a girl is entitled to bitch (and I
do quite a bit of bitching). I don’t know if insomnia’s the right word
for it cause I do like my sleep, people say I might still be having a
case of jet-lag but honestly Australia has only three hours difference
so I really don’t think so.

********
Sitting here pondering about it, I’ve come to the realization that the
reason might simply be the fact that it’s quiet. During the day filled
with the hustle and bustle of morning (or in my case afternoon) traffic
not to mention the crowd just gives me a migraine. Whereas the night
has a serene, calming quality about it. Most people are asleep and,
while snuggled in my little corner typing a whole lot of nonsense, I
feel like I have this small world all to myself even if its just for a
few hours. Yup… soooo not going to do anything about this little
predicament.

Dreams… Fantasies… and Fairy Tales

Narnia_movie_posterTransport yourself into a land of dreams, where fairies and centaurs roam, where trees whisper in the wind and a lion holds true wisdom. It’s easy, just watch this film.

Honestly, my expectations for this film was pretty low. Considering the mix reviews I’ve been getting, I try not to get my hopes up. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe has always been one of my favourite stories but due to the fact that its so easy to screw up a movie based on a book, I was skeptical. After watching it I was pleasantly surprised. True, it’s not perfect: the acting was Ok, characters needed development hence the length of the film should have been extended, but it manages to stir the imagination. The CGI and voice acting was pretty good. I like Liam Neeson as Aslan although I felt that he should’ve gotten more lines! (his voice is so regal). But all in all I liked this movie, makes you want to go into your wardrobe and see if there’s a mystical land if you go through it :)

*******
I think it’s a pity that some people, going into adulthood, tend to forget how
to dream, their imagination slowly diminishes into a mundane reality
check-list that just makes them bitter and utterly depressing. It’s a
real pity that nowadays people tend to grow up too fast and forget that
there is indeed magic in this world…
